Every year, the season changes, but it changes depending on the place or region that has different climates. But the Fall or Autumn season is the time for children to play outside, enjoying the cool weather.  A season for hiking, playing, and exploring things outside.

In consideration for new parents who are new to parenting, Kiddo TV, compiled some of the best clothing tips from reliable articles from the internet, for parents when their child experiences their first fall.

When looking for outdoor clothes needed for the children. There are 4 important reminders that parents should consider when buying clothing wear for their children.

  1. Protects them from wind, moisture, and cold temperatures.

  2. Stands up to wear and tear.

  3. Easy to put on and take off.

  4. Spacious enough to allow for playing.

For the outdoor gear, there are three layers:

1st Layer, or the base layer, is what regulates your temperature and moves perspiration away from the body, to keep you dry. This layer is in direct contact with your skin and usually fits snugly.

2nd Layer, or mid-layer, insulates by trapping body heat in pockets of air in the fabric. This layer comes in many different shapes and forms, and can consist of natural fibers such as wool and goose down, as well as synthetic fibers like fleece and polyester.

3rd Layer, the outer layer, is what protects from rain, snow or wind, and should be rugged enough to stand up to some wear and tear. This layer can range from a light wind breaker to heavy mountaineering outfits with a lot of features.

If children under five and living in a climate where fall translates to playing in rain, mud and slush – there is heavy-duty polyester and polyurethane blends which are unbeatable when it comes to the weather. As well as the common gear are the boots, hats, and mittens.

And lastly, always adjust the child’s and your own (parents) clothes according to the climate and activity level.

  1. Invest the time to go through the child’s existing wardrobe.

  3. If children have the same gender, Consider WORKING THROUGH THEIR WARDROBE FROM OLDEST TO YOUNGEST.

  4. Be Selective. Only keep items the child/ children and feel confident he or she will wear.

  5. Sell or donate items of clothing that can’t be used by immediate family members, relatives, or friends.
