According to the article in BBC, written by Claudia Hammond, research studies shows that listening to Mozart’s music may induce a short-term improvement on the performance of certain kinds of mental tasks known as “spatial-temporal reasoning”. This is well known as the “Mozart Effect.”

Babies just love songs and rhythms. Scientist have shown that music affects the physical, emotional, and mental development of babies and it also strengthens cognitive and sensory development.

What makes this song special?

“Rock-a-bye baby” is a nursery rhyme and lullaby. The melody is a variant of the English satirical ballad Lillibullero. Several rumors exist about “Rock-A-Bye Baby’s” origin, none of which has been proven.

    • It was written by a pilgrim who sailed to America on the Mayflower. During this trip, the young passenger observed the way Native American women rocked their babies in birch-bark cradles suspended from the high branches of a tree, allowing the wind to rock the baby to sleep.

3. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

According to Mama Lisa’s World-International Music & Culture, it’s at least 245 years old! The tune is originally from France and it was first seen in print in Paris in 1761 – though the current song, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star didn’t exist back then.
